Leadership
Gary Ran has spent over 40 years in the finance and investment industry serving in a variety of roles. His experience includes business management, raising capital and investing in both public and private enterprises with a focus on the specialty finance sector including lenders like business development companies (BDCs) and commercial finance companies. Gary was the founder of Telemus Capital, an independent registered investment advisory firm, that he grew from a start-up to one of the largest and most successful firms in the industry before selling it in August 2013 to a private equity backed investment group. Gary attended Wayne State University and Lawrence Technological University.
Advisory Board
Glenn Pollack has over 25 years of investment banking and restructuring experience. He has advised over 150 middle market companies in various corporate finance transactions and in that role has developed and implemented innovative capital structures and alternatives to traditional financing methodologies. Prior to founding Candlewood Partners, Glenn was the Managing Director and Principal responsible for the Restructuring Practice at Brown, Gibbons, Lang & Co., a middle market investment banking firm. He was also the CEO of one of the country’s largest wholesale meat distributors, a turnaround consultant with a national practice, and a “Big Six” accounting and systems professional. Glenn has served as a director for several public and private companies. Glenn is a graduate of the Questrom School of Business at Boston University.
Erik Stamell currently serves as Chief Revenue Officer of Milestone Bank as well as serving as a Director of the bank’s parent company Milestone Capital Partners, Inc. His role includes operating the bank’s lender finance program, capital markets and contributing to the sales and marketing team. In 2010, Erik co-founded Credibly.com and served as General Counsel. Credibly is a financial technology company that provides working capital to small businesses and has funded over $2.5 billion in small-business loans and advances. Erik is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
